Now that it has warmed up slightly we thought it would be a good time to catch up on visiting some sculpture parks that we didn't get to last year. Sculpture By The Lakes is in Pallington near Dorchester, Dorset, it had been on the list for a while, so off we went. We were pleased we visited, the setting is very relaxing although we don't think we would revisit like we have with other sculpture parks, there is just not enough variety for more than one visit.
I have to be honest and say some of the sculptures just didn't really do it for me, however on my must have list now is a small stream, a hanging sculpture chair, and a fire pit.
I have always loved swings they are so relaxing and a lot of my childhood was spent sat on one at the nearby park, but now, as a lets just say more mature person, one of these amazing chairs, a good book and a bit of warmth would be a lovely treat.
Some non-sculpture bits of nice were some beautiful chickens, a lovely old car, and some nice flora and fauna.
There were some sayings set into a path in one part of the garden, which I thought were lovely.
Plus a lovely pair of rusty rabbits.
A lot of the bird sculptures seemed a bit samey to me and didn't really float my boat, but there were a few nice face sculptures.
All in all worth a visit, but not one of my favourites.
Now where do you order metal swinging chairs and large trees?
