We had a work away day this week to buy lovely linens for quilts and cushions and props for photographs. This inevitably involved some retail therapy for the decoration of our houses too, well what else can you do when there are so many wonderful things to buy?
So armed with a sack truck and cash we trundled off in Julie's trusty Mini Clubman, believe us it is amazing what you can fit in a Mini! Karen, however, would have loved a huge white van or large jeep but we squeezed all our purchases in - just about.
We found some amazing heavy linens to make lovely cushions with and floral fabrics to use with our favourite Cabbages and Roses and Susie Watson materials. Hopefully these will appear on our website soon.
Julie was very excited to find some old Swedish bread bowls having just come back from Sweden where they were too big for hand luggage. One was duly squeezed into the Mini.
Karen was happy to take home an olive basket at a steal of a price compared to those she had previously found so we added that to our growing pile.
Another purchase included these lovely American tin ceiling tiles which the stall holder told us came from schools etc and are becoming quite trendy to use in interiors. Julie bought one for her dining room that is about to be ripped apart and Karen put one in one of these lovely rustic wooden frames for a friend.
We also found some lovely reels of beautifully coloured cottons and amazing industrial cabinets to display quilts. We decided to call it a day otherwise we would have needed one of these!
