Last week we had a little trip away to one of our favourite places to stay, Odle Farm in Devon.
We stay in a converted tractor barn where the views are amazing at any time of year, and in any weather.
Long walks from the doorstep are fantastic.
The chickens are funny, calling to each other and strutting their stuff.
Wide open spaces to get rid of the cobwebs of daily living
House Martins share their homes with you, they are amazing to see swooping around the sky, and are fantastic nest builders.
Some camera lessons were given to a budding photographer, Erin has already had some photographs published since our last visit.
There are plenty of photographic opportunities whilst out and about
As well as my husband and myself giving a few photography tips, I gave quilting lessons to Jeanette one of the owners of Odle Farm. Jeanette is an amazing host and pretty good at quilting too.
The quilt was all put together by the end of the week and just needed some hand sewing and appliqué sewing, plus a few eyes and legs for those chickens.
After a trip to Cowslip Workshops(about an hours drive away) we settled down to put together Jeanettes very first quilt. The quilts below are the same pattern just different colorways, and different appliqué.
Odle Farm is a great place to stay and quilt, with fantastic views. Plenty of colour inspiration can be taken from the countryside.
My pastel linen quilt pictured above was inspired by Lower Margate,a holiday home in Cornwall.
I can't wait to have a week in Devon at Odle farm followed by a week at Lower Margate in Cornwall, so relaxing and great places to recharge your batteries.
